The 1960's

The 1960s where responsible for the creation drainpipe jeans and capri pants, which were worn by Audrey Hepburn. Being casual became more unisex a popular choice of clothing was plaid button down shirts worn with slim blue jeans, slacks and also skirts. The 1960's where filled wuth crazy patterns and flowing dressses. A beloved material was suede and corduroy they where incorporated into most outfits.



The 1980's

The 1980s saw many fashion trends explode onto the scene. Men and women explored with bright neon colours and textures. Power suits where everywhere as the working woman was powering through the decade. Athletic wear was huge at this time windbreakers where a must and leg warmers where an accessory that everyone had. Holographic clothing came onto the scene and was worn by the masses. Shoulder pads where added to most jackets and baggy acid wash mom jeans where a big trend.


The 2000's

The noughties where a decade where many of the grunge
t-shirts and casual look stayed around but that’s not to say there wasn’t any new trends that serviced. Velour tracksuits where worn by everyone. They were extremely popular with women the brand Juicy Couture was booming and in high demand. Ugg boots where a wardrobe staple and skinny scarfs where the perfect accessory for women and men. Miniskirts and mini purses where a must for women and men wore baggy low-rise jeans with chunky belts and boots.

The 1970's

Early 1970s fashions for women included Tie dye shirts, peasant blouses, ponchos and military surplus clothing. Women during this time wore bell-bottoms, flared jeans, gauchos, frayed jeans, midi skirts, and ankle-length maxi dresses. Men during this time also wore flared jeans and simple t-shirts but experimented with colour and texture during the “Hippie Movement”. By the late 70’s men and women were wearing sportswear that many people today forget about.


The 1990's

The 1990s the popularity of grunge and alternative rock brought the grunge look to the mainstream by the early 90’s. The anti-conformist approach to fashion led to the popularization of the casual chic look that included T-shirts, jeans, hoodies, and trainers. Doc Martens where a key item during the 90’s and have stuck around throughout the early and now later 2000’s.



The 2010's

Today we see the revival of many different style trends from past decades. Bright neon colours have made a huge impact which took inspiration from 80’s bright and outlandish fashion. High waist jeans are seen in every clothing retailer. Grunge has also been a huge trend making a statement. The “Skater Style” has seen a huge number of big fashion brands getting on board with the trend seeing a number of people wearing Vans and Flannels. Fast Fashion has become a major talking point people are becoming more environmentally conscious with their clothing and wanting to know what happens to it when its gone and how they can help the earth. Vintage pieces are now a staple in most peoples wardrobes, layering these with new trends is popular style choice.
